Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is doing well, and that you are having a great week!! Do you guys have plan for the weekend? Do you like to discover San Francisco and its surroundings? Well, I wanted to talk to you about one of my favorite getaway for the weekend, especially during the summer!! I love going to Sonoma county, which is basically one hour and a half from San Francisco. Sonoma Valley is also known as the wine country. As a matter of fact, people drive there mostly in order to visit the wineries, taste delicious wines, but also to discover the beautiful landscapes, as well as the gorgeous and romantic hotels all around Sonoma. I have to say, hotels are quite expensive, this is why I would recommend booking a room a few months before to get a better price!
After trying several wineries, there is one that I really enjoyed because their offered an amazing food and wine pairing degustation! The winery is called St. Francis, and its located in Santa Rosa. They have a great wine selection, and if you get a chance to do their food pairing, you will learn to enjoy new wines, and learn to develop your palate.
I feel very lucky because one of my best friend has a beautiful house in Sonoma county and I got the chance to spend some time over there. Sonoma is a magical place to relax, breathe some fresh air, and be surrounded by nature and beauty. But if you need specific addresses or recommendations for hotels, I am happy to share the ones I tried!!
The best part of having a house to stay is to be able to cook with some friends, enjoy the delicious wines from the region, and eat your favorite food!
After trying several restaurants in the area I selected two places for its cosy feeling, and the atmosphere of the place. The first one is the Fig Cafe, it is very good for breakfast, brunch and lunch time. They have a wide selection of tasty dishes and the restaurant is really pretty.
Another place I really enjoy going for its outside patio, their great wood fired pizza as well as their gelato is VJB Winery and Vineyard
