Garden Creek, a little piece of heaven

Hello everyone, I hope that you are having a wonderful week. It is February, and yet, the weather is amazing, it feels like summer in San Francisco. Nothing better than a refreshing glass of Chardonnay to enjoy this warm breeze that we have been experiencing in the Bay lately. Speaking about wine, let me tell you about this beautiful winery that I discovered a few days ago.

If you follow me on social media, you probably saw my Insta-Story from last Friday. Some of you asked me “Are you in paradise?” Well let me tell you about this little piece of heaven that I have found in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County. I was invited for a private tour, as well as a private wine tasting at Garden Creek Vineyards in Geyserville. As soon as I arrived, the beauty of this property amazed me, and I immediately felt relaxed and serene, due to the calm and peaceful environment that surrounded me. No sound of traffic, no noise, except the ones made by the wild life around the premisses.

I was welcomed by Emily, the marketing manager, and by Justin, the owner himself. They both welcomed me with so much warmth and kindness. As soon as Emily started sharing with me the story of Garden Creek Vineyards, as well as the story of Justin and Karin (the owners of this property), I was transported into a fairy tail story, and I could feel the love, the passion, and the devotion of the couple and their respective families. In fact, the love and the dedication for wine is their strength, it makes them so unique, and their passion has clearly passed through generations. Justin and Karin both grew up with parents passionate and eager to make their own wine. Justin’s family planted their first vineyard with Cabernet Sauvignon in 1969, and it never stopped after that. Garden Creek has been around for years, and is more than just a winery; it is a family love story. I invite you to read more about the owners, and the winery itself here.

Now let’s talk about their wine, and the quality of their products! It is a very small winery, they produce only two wines, but the quality is phenomenal. They make a French style Chardonnay, it has a pure, refined, and sophisticated taste, just delicious. They also make a Cabernet blend that they call “Tessarae”, blended with components of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Their products are completely organic, the owners made sure to use the best grapes for an excellent wine.

This little vineyard is a must see. The property is gorgeous, it is in the middle of nature, far from the big touristic wineries. It is very charming, and their wines are really exceptional. It is by appointment only, it is very private, but the experience is so unique! Please let me know if you schedule a visit!
