Hello my friends. I am happy to share with you my last discovery in the city! I would like to talk about this small, cosy, and authentic bakery called Kahnfections located in the heart of Mission District, San Francisco. I had the honor to meet Judy Kahn, the Chef Pastry and the owner of this little boulangerie, during the Best Croissant in SF event, organized by French Morning. As a matter of fact, on April 8th 2018, eight finalist bakeries were present to become the best croissant of San Francisco. Kahnfections didn’t win, but they definitely offer one of the best you can find in the city!
Judy Kahn has an amazing experience in the bakery and pasty industry. She did her first internship at Tartine with the famous pastry chef Mutsumi Takehara. She also participated to the opening of Sandbox Bakery where she created the menu and managed the staff kitchen. A little bit less than a year ago, Judy Kahn decided to fulfil her dream, and opened her first and own bakery, Kahnfections! If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend stoping by and trying out her delicious creations. While they have a lot of different sweet and savory options, my absolute favorite was her butter croissant, and her chocolate croissant. As a Parisian myself, I have to say that her croissants are amazing, the perfect amount of fat, butter, chocolate, with a real authentic French taste.
If you happen to go please let me know, I want to know all about your experience!
